Susan readily admits that her journey into data was accidental. It was a brave choice too. The 33-year-old is the founder of Phoenix Ke Analytics and also a senior analytics specialist at the MultiChoice Group.
“We are a data community that works to bridge the gap between what professionals are learning in school and what happens in the real world,” the holder of a Bachelor of Finance degree from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and a Masters of Finance from Daystar University, says.
Susan admits that she at first did not have a clue about data science, but she immersed herself in the field and is now excelling in it. What fuels her passion? “Success for me is impact. Helping people navigate this journey is very personal to me, it was something I lacked when I started. So, I strive to be their support system.”
The mother of two is proud to contribute to the development of the country’s data ecosystem through training and awareness.

Her vision is to give women in particular the confidence to excel in the technology sector, with a focus on data, where they are currently under-represented.
