Zamara Actuaries, Administrators and Consultants

American professional baseball player George Herman, popularly known as “Babe” Ruth once said: “You just can’t beat the person who never gives up.”

These are words that best describe Angela.

She says that when she joined Zamara in 2008 from the Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA), her mission was very clear; “To help the fund grow to offer the leading pension solutions across new territories in Africa.”

“When I joined the company, it was a medium-sized firm with close to 30 employees and looking to grow or expand into new markets for pensions solutions. Zamara was then called Alexander Forbes,” says the University of Nairobi graduate.

"You just can't beat the person who never gives up." These words American professional baseball player George Herman best describe Angela."

Over the last 12 years, she has gained wide-ranging exposure on pensions, insurance and actuarial consultancy work. She has been involved in providing a wide range of consultancy services working with clients in East, Western and Southern Africa, as well as Europe.

Today, she is a regular speaker at international conferences and seminars on investment, social security, employee benefits and pension matters.

Although she joined Zamara as an assistant consultant, a job similar to a management trainee, today, she is serving as a Director for two Zamara companies (in and outside Kenya) and leading the Pan African expansion of Zamara to the rest of Africa, namely Rwanda, Malawi, Uganda, Nigeria, and Tanzania.

And when she is not working, she is a sports enthusiast who enjoys ralling and playing squash.

Occasionally, she will set behind a piano and play a tune.
