Co-founder

Arvocap Asset Managers

For Monicah Mwaniki, fund management goes beyond balancing portfolios. Behind every investment decision, she sees the real impact on people’s lives and financial security.

As the co-founder of Arvocap Asset Managers, she is one of the two female CEOs of asset fund managers in Kenya.

Her role is to oversee funds invested on behalf of institutional and individual clients.

“What we do is extremely and directly impactful. We’re not just managing people’s funds, but also people’s goals, dreams, and families. The biggest problem we are solving is giving people a reality check, hope, and assurance in the wake of the many rogue investment companies or people buying illiquid investments.”

"What we do is extremely and directly impactful. We’re not just managing people’s funds, but also people’s goals, dreams, and families."

Today, Arvocap Asset Managers has an asset base of more than Sh1.5 billion and counting and is one of the fastest-growing financing institutions.

Beyond offering investment options, Arvocap also has family offices where it partners with clients to build and preserve wealth across generations.

But the climb has not been without challenges.

“The biggest hurdle to overcome is oneself. There is that self-doubt that checks in at some time, but once you overcome that, you realise there is no height you cannot get to and that it doesn’t end there.”

Monicah is driven by a clear ambition to grow.

A lot of books

“The challenge is always to grow myself. I read a lot of books and journals and listen to podcasts, and I am also very intentional about how I spend my time and what I do. This is my second year as CEO; I look forward to my tenth and fifteenth years as CEO and beyond.”
