Dr Isha Anand’s life and career are anchored in two pillars: faith and hard work. “God is the centre of my life, choices, and success.” A certified Kaizen practitioner, she is guided by the philosophy of continuous improvement.
Beyond her profession, she is committed to youth leadership by mentoring pharmacy students. “Giving back keeps me grounded—someone helped me along the way,” she says. “Mentorship is about planting seeds of strength and purpose in others, so they too can grow, lead, and adapt to a changing world.”
Her journey began at just 15, when she left Kenya for Perth, Australia, to pursue her foundational studies. She later earned a Bachelor of Pharmacy from Curtin University of Technology.
She later earned a Master’s in Clinical Pharmacy from the University of Belfast, followed by an MBA from the University of Cumbria (Robert Kennedy College, Zurich). “I found myself more drawn to leading teams than to clinical work. That’s when I knew I needed the MBA.”
"Mentorship is about planting seeds of strength and purpose in others, so they too can grow, lead, and adapt to a changing world."
Before joining The Nairobi Hospital, she served for six years as chief pharmacist at MP Shah Hospital.
Leadership has taught her to be patient, humble, and celebrate every milestone, no matter how small. Her most valuable prescription for leadership? Books. “As a leader and a pharmacist, you don’t—and must not—stop reading.”
